BAND CAMP

Band Camp will be Monday, August 2 through August 6 at the Western School at Barry in the band room. Camp times will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

REGISTRATION WILL BE THURSDAY, JULY 29 FROM 12:00 NOON TO 7:00 P.M. AT THE WESTERN SCHOOL AT BARRY AND AT THE WESTERN SCHOOL AT KINDERHOOK.

Seniors Honored at Church Luncheon

The ladies of the Barry United Methodist Church held their annual luncheon honoring the graduates of the Class of 2010. The students, sponsors and administration really enjoyed the wonderful meal prepared by the ladies and appreciated the time and effort that was put into the meal. A big thank you goes out to these ladies.

DRILL TEAM 2010-2011

Western Music Boosters

Western Music Boosters are selling tickets to the Quincy Gems on June 5 against the Hannibal Cavemen. The colorguard will be presenting the flag and there will be free fireworks after the game. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please see a student planning to attend the trip or contact Mrs. Conkright.

Music Students

Any music student planning to attend the Washington DC/NY trip who would like to earn a credit can see Mrs. Conkright to get tickets to the Quincy Gems game on June 5.

Cheer Meeting

There will be a high school cheer parent meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria on Tuesday, May 25th.

VOLLEYBALL MEETING

There will be a mandatory high school volleyball meeting Monday, May 24th at 3:30 p.m. in Ms. Hechler's room. If you plan on playing, please be there at the meeting.

BASKETBALL MEETING

There will be a meeting Friday, May 21 in Mr. Buckert's room after school for all high school boys interested in playing basketball next season.

May 18 - Final Book Turn-In

May 19 - Baccalaureate Ceremony - 7 p.m. - Hull Methodist Church. Seniors are to be there by 6:00 p.m. for practice.

May 21 - Graduation Practice - 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. , High School gym. Spring assembly to follow with senior cook-out.

May 22 - Graduation Ceremony - Senior Pictures at 5:30 p.m. (meet in cafeteria), Ceremony at 7:00 p.m.

Seniors: The Kay Lippincott Scholarship deadline is due on Friday, May 14. Please give to Mrs. Donaldson.

WEA Scholarship

The WEA Scholarship application has been extended to Friday, May 14. Please return those applications to Mrs. Donaldson.

Barry Alumni Scholarship Deadline Extended

The Barry Aleumni Scholarship deadline has been extended. Applications must be postmarked by May 14. The scholarship is open to all seniors of the Western School District.

Box Tops Money

The Western Barry Elementary received a check from Box Tops for Education this past week for $800.00. Thje elementary staff voted on purchasing a Cricut machine to assist in creating letters, shapes and help pay for our end of the year party for the students. We would like to take this time to thank all of the students, staff and the community for clipping and saving box tops. Isn't it amazing what 10 cents at a time can add up to?!?

Earth Day

The Western High School science club planted flowers for earth day. They cleaned out the flower beds and also planted some new flowers. It all look so very nice! Good job!
